Ladybug Party Supplies, Ladybug Birthday Ideas
Throw a birthday party with nature's lucky ladybug in the starring role. Young nature lovers will love these sweet ladybug birthday decorations. Either hold the party outdoors or bring nature indoors by decorating with flowers, plants and watering cans. Read on for a few ideas for fun birthday party activities and menu suggestions for an amazing ladybug birthday party to go along with the ladybug birthday party supplies.
Make and Take Your Own Ladybug
Set up a craft table with washable paints, rocks (cleaned) and plenty of paintbrushes. Let each party guest design and paint their own ladybug pet rock to take home or make their own bug jar craft kits.
Ladybug Musical Leaves
This game is played like the traditional musical chairs but instead of using chairs, use green construction paper leaves. Start by placing one large construction paper leaf on the floor in a circular pattern for each guest. Start the music. As the music plays, remove one leaf. When the music stops, all guests need to “land” on a leaf. The child who doesn't have a leaf to land on sits out for the rest of the game. Continue until only one child is left. The winner gets a small prize.
Lady, Lady, BUG!
(Ladybug party version of Duck, Duck, Goose) Have party guests sit on the ground in a circle. One child is “It”. "It" goes around the outside of the circle, patting each child on the head and saying “Lady” as they gently pat each person on the head. “It” will say “Lady” over and over until unexpectedly saying “Bug!” when giving a pat. The “Bug” must then hop up and run around the circle while chasing “It”. If "It" makes his way back to the Bug's seat before being tagged, he is safe, and the Bug becomes "It". If not, “It” remains "It" for another round. No matter what you call it, this game is always a winner!
Buggy Spoon Races
For this relay you’ll need red and black candies (licorice squares work nicely) and a spoon for each team. Divide the kids into two teams and have each team form a line. Have a member of each team race to a certain point, holding the candies in the spoon, and then return so that the next team member has a turn.
Bugs on a Log
Celery stalk 'logs' filled with cream cheese or peanut butter with raisins or dried cranberries dotted along the top.
Serve red punch in a brand new, carefully cleaned watering can. Provide guests with fun, silly straws with flower or bug shapes.
Lovely Ladybug Cupcakes
Serve each guest their own ladybug cupcakes. Frost with red icing, top with black M&Ms, and use a mini Oreo or Junior Mint for the head. Or, if you prefer, make a ladybug cake using a ladybug cake pan!
Top english muffin halves with pizza sauce, mozzerella cheese and black olives. Bake until cheese is melted and serve.
Don't forget! Ladybug party supplies are where the party starts!
