Will Your Next Party Be A Brave Birthday Party?

Brave Party Supplies are a great way to celebrate the fun and exciting Brave movie. Scheduled for release on June 22, 2012, the mythic movie Brave is promising to be another in a long line of successful kids’ movies from Pixar. Will you be taking your kids to see this soon-to-be Celtic themed classic?

Originally named The Bear and the Bow, the story of Brave takes place in 10th century Scotland. The film stars Merida, a red-haired, impetuous heroine and skilled archer, who defies an ancient custom of her people (she pursues her interest in archery) and unleashes chaos in her realm. Trying to fix the chaos she’s caused, Merida seeks help and consults with an old wise woman. She is granted a wish, but wishes can come with burdens, and hers is a curse she must undo before time runs out.

Interesting Tidbits about the movie Brave:
Merida is the first female lead character in a Pixar movie and the director, Brenda Chapman, was the Pixar’s first female director. However, Chapman was later replaced by mark Andrews.

Merida will be voiced by Kelly Macdonald, a Scottish actress who made her debut in 1996’s Trainspotting. Reese Witherspoon was the first choice, but she declined.

It’s a good year for woman characters that are skilled with a bow and arrows. Both Katniss (from The Hunger Games) and Merida are skilled archers.

John Ratzenberger who is known as “Pixar’s Good Luck Charm” will have an as yet unannounced voice role in Brave. He has played a character in every past Pixar movie. Some of his past characters of note include “Hamm the Pig” from the Toy Story movies, “Mack” from the Cars movies, “The Abominable Snowman” in Monster’s Inc. and a number of other big and small roles in the other Pixar films.

A Brave video game is, of course, already in the works.
