Wreck It Ralph Party Supplies are coming, but what is the movie about anyway?

Wreck It Ralph is the 9 foot tall, 643 pound “bad guy” found in the popular video game “Fix-It Felix Jr.” located in an old school arcade. Ralph tires of his job in the game (destroying buildings while the hero Felix fixes them) and longs for the chance to be a hero instead of a villain. Seeing an opportunity, Ralph escapes his video game through the power cord and enters the realm of Hero’s Duty.

Hero’s Duty, as it turns out, is a first-person shooter game that features its hero, Sergeant Calhoun, as he battles the alien invading “Cy-Bugs”. Ralph helps Calhoun before later leaving and entering the kart racing game Sugar Rush where he’s greeted with a variety of candies, cookies and other tasty treats. It’s there that he also meets Vanellope von Schweetz and learns of the terrible threat that he might have inadvertently unleashed.

Described by executive producer John Lasseter as “an 8-bit video game bad guy who travels the length of the arcade to prove that he’s a good guy”, the film will likely feature cameos of old-school arcade stars like a ghost from Pac-man, Coily the Snake from Q-Bert, and others from Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros. and more. Will today’s kids recognize these arcade characters? That probably won’t matter if it helps the film appeal successfully to adults (who remember their time in the arcade) and to their children at the same time.

Will Ralph find out what it really means to be a “good guy”? Will Ralph stop the threat in time to save the arcade? Will parents and children love the retro arcade storyline? Find out, when this film opens November 2, 2012.

Who is voicing the characters?

The headliners are John C. Reilly as Wreck It Ralph, Jack McBrayer voices Felix, Jane Lynch preforms as Sergeant Calhoun, Sarah Silverman as Venellope and Jamie Elman as Turtle.
