Mario Birthday Party Ideas To Go Along With the Mario Party Supplies

For the gaming fanatic, nothing’s better than a Mario birthday party. You can have Princesses, Koopas, Marios and Luigis all over to your house for a great time. Grab some Mario Party Supplies, then power up your party with these Mario theme ideas and activities.

Activities

Mustache Yourself – When all of your guests arrive, make sure they each get either a red Mario hat or a green Luigi hat. Make these using a baseball cap and then glue a white circle on the front. If you’re doing additional activities with teams, this is an easy way to divide the group. Also give each child a Mario mustache. Now they’re ready to go!

Yoshi Egg Hunt – Add chocolate gold coins into colorful plastic eggs and hide them around the house. All kids love a fun egg hunt, and Mario was always looking for gold coins! Add a larger egg filled with more coins to be the ultimate find.

Boo! Bean Bag Toss – Cut out a white poster in the shape of a circle with a smaller hole in the middle (for the mouth). Then paint the circle to look like the Boo! Ghost from the Mario game. Kids can then toss red and green bean bags into the mouth to try to get the ghost!

Turtle Shell Relay – Line the kids up into two teams and have a pile of gold coins at the end of the room. The kids have to “turtle walk” (with hands and feet on ground and knees/chest in air) to the coins, grab on and turtle walk back to their team basket.

Food

1 Up Birthday Cake – Make a round vanilla circle cake and cut out the bottom third of the cake to create the bottom of the mushroom. Then add part of the cutout back in to make the stem. Add green coloring to vanilla icing and ice over the top half of the cake. Using vanilla icing, finish the cake and add little spots to look like the Mario “1Up” mushrooms.

Mario World Cookies – Make sugar cookies into star shapes, mushroom shapes, feathers, leaves and coin shapes. Then use sugar icing in different colors to decorate; yellow for stars, green and red for mushrooms, white for feathers, brown for leaves, yellow for coins.

Mario Pizza – Mario and Luigi love pizza and it’s a part of their Italian history. Serve up some yummy pizzas and each kid gets a slice (or two!).

Mushroom Marshmallow Pops – Add a wood stick to a marshmallow, then use fondant to paint it red with white spots to look like the red mushrooms.
