If you have a fan of firefighters and fire trucks, plan a fire engine party! Boys and girls alike love fire trucks and firefighters, and with good reason; they're heroes! Here are some great fire truck party ideas to complement our Fire Truck party supplies and help create an amazing fire engine party!

Fire Truck Party Activities

Refrigerator Box Fire Truck
A few weeks before your party, call your local appliance store and ask them to hold the box from the next refrigerator they open for display. (Appliance stores don’t do this every day, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to come up with a box.) When the guests arrive, have red, black, and white poster paints, paintbrushes, and paint smocks waiting for them. Let everybody paint the box and turn it into a fire truck. Let the kids eat cake and ice cream while the paint dries. Once the truck is dry, give the kids plastic fire hats, and they will enjoy playing firefighters in their truck!

Put Out The Fire
Set up “fires” in your back yard or on your patio. Create flames by crumpling up sheets of red, orange and yellow tissue paper. Put the “flames” on top of a box and give each guest a squirt gun filled with water. Have the kids squirt water at the fires to knock the flames off the box and put the fire out! Warning: If it's warm out, this game will almost certainly evolve into a squirt gun fight!

Firefighter Training
Create an obstacle course in the back yard and have all the guests go through firefighter training. (If you have a backyard play set, this will be a breeze.) Have the trainees go down the slide, over and under the monkey bars, and climb a rope. Use orange plastic cones and create an agility course or something similar. The kids will have a ball and get lots of exercise!

Fire Truck Party Food Ideas Your Guests Will Love

Dalmatian Cookies
Make an easy batch of sugar cookie dough by mixing together the following:

  • 2 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Roll out the cookie dough and use dog-shaped cookie cutters to make dog cookies. After baking them for ten minutes at 375 degrees, allow them to cool, then ice them with white frosting. For the final touch, add black frosting dots to turn the dogs into firehouse Dalmatians!

Firehouse Chili
Chili is a firehouse staple, so it's the perfect food to serve at your fire truck party. Brown ground beef, or ground turkey in a Dutch oven. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili beans and a chili seasoning spice packet. Let simmer for an hour, and your hungry firefighting guests will eat it up like there’s no tomorrow!
