Clifford Birthday Party Ideas

Looking for a dog-gone good time? Look no further than a party theme that focuses on Clifford. Host a theme party in honor of everyone’s favorite giant red dog. A Clifford themed bash is sure to bring a lot of smiles and fun for all of the guests. Look below for some great doggy ideas.

Clifford Cake: What better way to celebrate in Clifford-style than to have a cake made with him as the icing design? You can design your own red dog with red icing or have it professionally done. However you choose to do it, the kids will enjoy seeing Clifford on a delicious cake.

Ice Cream in Red “Dog Bowls” : Kids will feel like they are Clifford for a day when you serve them ice cream topped with a “dog bone” shaped cookie and then serve it in red bowls. Choose bowls that resemble dog food bowls for an extra round of giggles.

Kibbles and Bits: Everyone will smile at the yummy mixture of cocoa puff cereal and red M&Ms that looks a lot like something that Clifford would find tasty. Kids will be assured it isn’t real dog food as they bite into the sweet treats - but they will enjoy pretending it is.

Freeze Dance: Play a game of freeze dance to a CD mix of dog-themed songs such as “B-I-N-G-O” and “How Much Is That Doggy in the Window?” Play the music for a few seconds, and then stop it. When the music stops, everyone freezes in a dog position. This game will have everyone laughing in no time.

Clifford Coloring Books: Order or print off a set of coloring sheets with Clifford on them. Provide a wide assortment of crayons and watch the kids go. They will love coloring their favourite red dog as the doggy tunes still play in the background.

Musical Bones: Rather than sitting in chairs when the music stops, have the kids land on a giant bone on the ground. You can cut out bone shapes from cardboard or construction paper and then spread them in a circle around the yard or in the basement. Play the doggy tunes, and when the music stops, everyone has to land on one of the bones or they will be “out”. Whoever is out can go into a “dog house” made to look just like Clifford’s. It won’t feel like such a loss, after all.
