Easy New Year’s Eve Decorating Ideas

Creating centerpieces for your New Year’s Eve celebrations can be a quick and easy task if you creatively re-use some of your Christmas decorations that you already have.  The trick is to change your decorating from the traditional red and green theme of Christmas to one that evokes more of a winter theme, using more silver, gold, white, and sparkly glass.

The taper centerpiece above can be easily put together.  Gather your silver Christmas ornaments, your silver garland and beads, find a silver (or glass bowl) and wrap a silver ribbon around taper candles, and voila! You have a beautiful centerpiece re-using your Christmas decorations.

I love this idea. Evergreen branches, pine cones, a silver tray, crystal snowflake ornaments, and a few votive candles are all you need to make this quick and easy centerpiece. I love the mixture of rustic, natural elements combined with the crystal and silver in this one.  It’s the perfect combination of sophisticated and casual.

Another quick and easy idea capitalizes on the champagne theme for New Year’s Eve by using a champagne bucket to hold the centerpiece.  Brilliant! Throw in some fresh cut white flowers, some evergreen branches and some festive silver curly ribbons and you have a fabulously easy focal point for your table.

So don’t be so quick to put away ALL of your Christmas decorations…many of them can do double duty to help you ring in the New Year. I hope you can take one or two of these ideas and find a way to reuse some of your decorations you already have. Remember, the more money you save on decorating means the more money you can spend on the ‘good’ champagne!
