Last night’s American Idol 10th season finale was an event packed with star-studded performances including Steven Tyler, Bono, and Lady Gaga to name just a few. Marc Anthony rocked the Latin rhythms with the help of the legendary Sheila E. on the timbales. Idol judge Jennifer Lopez left the singing to her husband, and gave a steamy dance performance that the audience went wild for.
This season’s top Idol hopefuls returned to perform along side a wide variety of stars including Judas Priest, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Tony Bennett, Beyonce, TLC, Jack Black, and Gladys Knight. It was an amazing mix of genres that held something for everyone.
Ryan Seacrest announced that over 122 MILLION votes came in, a new American Idol record. In a first for the show, America’s top two Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, were both great country singers. In the end, Scotty McCreery was named the winner of the tenth season of American Idol. The baby-faced teenager with the amazingly rich deep voice is the first country singer to win Idol since Carrie Underwood won four years ago, and he is the first male country singer ever to win American Idol.
American Idol gave us something to look forward to with some big Season 11 news on last night’s results show! American Idol announced three more audition stops bringing the total to 6 cities where you could be discovered.
