Since then, several characters have assumed the “Green Lantern” persona, each receiving the powers that go along with the magic lantern and the ring.  The character “Hal Jordan” was one of the most popular, and most important in the history of the character.  He was one of the founding members of the Justice League, and it is his character that Ryan Reynolds will be bringing to life in the big-screen adaptation The Green Lantern, coming on May 6, 2011!
