Superman Party Supplies have been some of our top-selling items lately.  Superman has been a popular figure for decades, so that isn’t terribly surprising.  What little boy wouldn‘t want to be Superman?   Superman got his start in comics, but made the jump into televisions and films long ago, adding to the character’s popularity.    Now  in Hollywood, rumors fly fast and furious.  News changes from moment to moment, and you can never be sure if what you are hearing is the gospel truth or just wishful thinking.  One of the latest bits of gossip that is going around town, involves the upcoming Superman movie that is titled (for now) Superman: Man of Steel.

For the moment, this movie is just a twinkle in a movie studio executive’s eye.  It hasn’t begun production yet, and is scheduled for release in December of 2012, which leaves plenty of time for speculation.  One of the names that has been getting a lot of talk around town is Jon Hamm, the star of Mad Men, AMC’s Emmy Award-winning period drama about an advertising agency in the 1960′s.  It would be an inspired bit of casting, since he is an acclaimed actor, who would undoubtedly take the role on and play it beautifully.  And speaking of beautiful, the man is not hard to look at, people.

Other actors said to be in contention for the role include Brandon Routh, the star of Superman Returns, and Eric Bana, star of The Incredible Hulk.  Clearly, both of these guys know their way around a superhero costume, and would do a great job, but I would love to see Jon Hamm in the role.  Only time will tell, who ends up with the job, and we will keep you updated.  In the meantime, keep enjoying your Superman parties, and watching your little guys dream of being  The Man of Steel!
